Save the Date! We are preparing for our Show, Memories & Melodies, to be held on Saturday, October 3rd. This show will be held at the Fellowship Hall of St. Luke United Methodist Church on 9 Mile Road. We are planning for a matinee performance as well as an evening performance. The matinee performance will take place at 2:00 PM and the cost per ticket is $10.00. The evening performance will take place at 7:30 PM and the cost per ticket is $12.00. Pensacola Sound Chorus is looking for a musical director.
This energetic and highly motivated individual should have a strong knowledge of the barbershop craft. We are a small but friendly chorus, and we perform regularly in our community. We continue our growth and education by competing each year in our regional event.
Profile of Pensacola Sound Chorus
Pensacola Sound chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, has members who vary in age from young adult to retirees. Our collective barbershop experience ranges from brand new members to those with 30+ years of singing and producing overtones in the barbershop art form.
We know how to work hard, and how to have fun doing it. The friendships that have developed over the years are evident in the teamwork we display in our quest for excellence.
Our form of government is a Management Team model. We have a hardworking Music Team, with directors, section leaders and choreographers, as well as an ongoing Section Leader Training Program. Several of our members are enrolled in the Director Certification Program.
Our beloved director has relocated to Gulfport, Mississippi in June and we need a director with a strong barbershop background who can take her place and lead us to new levels……
Our show, Memories & Melodies, is scheduled for October. We have a script, staging outline, costumes in the works, guest artists identified and folks who are accustomed to doing behind-the-scenes work that makes a show tick! The majority of the songs have been learned and the chorus is off paper on them.

The current rehearsal site is 600 Pickens Ave., Heights Baptist Church, two blocks behind Georgio’s Pizza on Cervantes Street. Registration begins Tuesdays at 6:15 PM.
